June 6, 2025

MACOMB, IL - - Delta Upsilon Fraternity (DU) at 快活影院 made check presentations to two local Macomb organizations as part of their service and charitable donation program this past spring.

In March, the chapter held its annual 鈥淒elta Hoopsilon鈥 event. The three-on-three men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball event and accompanying ticket raffle raised over $2,000 for local charities and the International Fraternity鈥檚 Global Service Initiative (GSI).

Last April, with the assistance of local resident Bob Moore, the chapter presented a $818 check to Saint Paul School Principal Mrs. Laura Cody to help with the school鈥檚 programs. Besides the donation, the chapter members provide time and volunteer with Saint Paul School, Saint Paul Parish and the Knights of Columbus organization.

During the first part of May, the chapter presented a $818 check to Captain Ron Felt of the Macomb Salvation Army to help with local assistance programs provided by the organization.

Earlier this year, the WIU chapter donated $2,500 to the Delta Upsilon Global Service Initiative. This project allows members and supplies to be sent to Jamaica to build houses, churches, schools and other critical infrastructures. This year marks the twelfth year that the WIU chapter has participated in this initiative.

The Global Service Initiative (GSI) represents a dual role for Delta Upsilon, serving as its international philanthropy and an international service project. Delta Upsilon believes in creating a fraternity for the modern college student. This includes preparing them for success in an ever-changing and growing global environment by developing global awareness and cultural competencies.

Delta Upsilon, founded in 1834 at Williams College, is the sixth oldest men鈥檚 college fraternity and the first to be founded as non-secret. The WIU chapter has been an active fraternity on campus since 1972, chartered in 1974 and has over 900 alumni and members who have been a part of the organization's history at WIU.
